ADVANCED PLACEMENT PSYCHOLOGY
In this issue not only can the child be abused in a Psychological way but also can grow to into major psychological disorders falling into depression or other personality disorders and affecting not only mentally but also emotionally and most harmful, hurt themselves physically. not only hurting themselves and or affecting themselves but those that do care for them.
Not only can we find other examples but I can also relate. when diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a cluster-B personality disorder, the essential feature of which is a pattern of marked impulsive and instability of affects, interpersonal relationships, and self-image. The pattern is present by early adulthood and occurs across a variety of situations and contexts. Other symptoms usually include intense fears of abandonment, intense anger, and irritability, the reason for which others have difficulty understanding. People with BPD often engage in idealization and devaluation of others, alternating between high positive regard and great disappointment. Self-harm, suicidal behavior.
I have come to fall into depression as well and every day is a battle and the strongest fight of my life especially when it came to self harm, but at the end of the day there is that spec of hope that somewhere along my pathway there will come that moment of happiness the recognition of holding up in that battle and becoming your own hero.
Psychology and and social justice are two completely different topics, but when you are trying to raise awareness for something that is a real issue not only in your community but all over the world, psychology and social justice can be really similar. social justice has an impact on how we think and how we react. maybe one person has a complete different perspective in a topic than the other person and the way they talk or think around the issue makes them take action differently for the issue. Make one understand how the issue is and how it's affecting the world and people to make sure there is an act upon to the issue .
The topic of child abuse does not come easy to a person for so many reasons, for personal experience, disturbance in the issue, they are part of being the abuser, or they are the ones being abused. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is A mental health condition triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event. Having experience child abuse to a parent can lead to either raising their children in the same way their parents did continuing the chain of child abuse or raising their children completely differently. also the parents might feel less of themselves that they feel the need to inflict pain in their children causing the child to grow up with various possible personality disorders such as, schizoid, antisocial, paranoid, and my personal experience, borderline personality disorder. In these personality disorders and many more can always take a bigger step like Major Depressive Disorder or Bipolar Disorder, and my personal experience self harm.
To solve this issue of child abuse we must break the chain of child abuse, and also helping those children in need of assistance dealing with child abuse and mental or personality disorders although this can become tough when it comes to different types of treatments. some treatments that are used are, first of all, drugs. Other types of treatments would be counseling or even group therapy as in my experience dealing with BPD.
The reason why Psychology has always been important to humanity is because this is how we can know one’s thoughts and emotions to help them when something is not right to bring them to realize that there is a cure, that that oneself can be helped from whatever it is trying to stay away from to be themselves. An idea that i have gained from AP Psychology is that there is always another perspective of how we see, feel, and act on things and what it is that drives us to act, feel, and see the way that we view issues.
